Reinertson Climbs Leaderboard, Ties for 11th

Overland Park, Kan. – Senior Josh Reinertson fired a final-round 73 on Tuesday to lead Nebraska to a 10th-place finish at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate.

Reinertson tied for 11th individually to turn in his best finish of the season in four starts. The Gibbon, Neb., native made a pair of birdies in the final round at Milburn Country Club, a par-72, 7,054-yard layout. He finished 10 strokes behind individual medalist Pep Angles of Central Arkansas in the 36-hole tournament. Weather delays on Monday caused the event to be shortened.

The Huskers produced a 309 total in the final round after posting 312 on Monday. NU’s 10th-place finish marks its fourth consecutive top 10 to start the season. Nebraska’s 45-over-par 621 total over two rounds finished 22 strokes behind team champion Wichita State.

Senior Ross Dickson carded an 8-over-par 80 on Tuesday en route to a tie for 30th. He birdied the par-4 12th hole on his way to a back-nine 39 and added 41 on the front nine. For the tournament, Dickson shot 11-over-par 155.

Freshman Niko Vui turned in an 8-over-par 80 in the final round, making two birdies in the process. He tied for 39th at 157. Justin Jennings finished one stroke behind Vui for the tournament and carded 76 on Tuesday. Jennings added 82 on Monday to tie for 43rd.

Calvin Freeman shot 167 at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate to tie for 78th. Freeman posted 85 on Tuesday after carding 82 in Monday’s opening round.

The Huskers finish their fall season next week at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at NMSU Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M.
