Dickson Tied for 13th in Kansas

Overland Park, Kan. – The Nebraska men’s golf team is in 10th place at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate after shooting 312 in the first round round at Milburn Country Club on Monday.

Cold and rainy weather became the reason for the 18-hole day at the par-72, 7,054-yard layout. Wichita State leads the tournament after shooting 7-over-par 295.

Ross Dickson led NU on Monday by firing a 3-over-par 75. The senior from London, England shot 2-over-par on the front nine before posting a 1-over-par 37. He is tied for 13th heading into the final day.

Freshman Niko Vui is tied for 25th place after firing a 5-over-par 77. The Apia, Samoa native carded a front-nine 41 before firing even par on the back nine in the third collegiate start of his career.

Gibbon, Neb. native Josh Reinertson finished the day with a 78, putting him in a tie for 35th place at 6-over-par. The senior finished the front-nine at 5-over before firing a 1-over-par 37 on the back nine.

Sophomore Justin Jennings and senior Calvin Freeman are both tied for 67th place after each carding 10-over-par 82. Freeman, a Table Rock, Neb. native, fired a first round 39 to put him a 3-over before a back nine 43.

Jennings, an Amarillo, Texas native, started the day off strong with a birdie en route to a 2-over-par total on the front nine. Jennings finished the back nine with an 8-over-par 44 to put him at 10-over on the day.

The final round begins on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (CT). The tournament has been shortened to 36 holes.
