Men?s 4x400-Meter Relay Team Finishes Seventh, Breaks School Record

Fayetteville, Ark. - The 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships came to a close on Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The men's 4x400 meter relay team provided the late highlights of the championships for the Huskers, finishing seventh overall and breaking the indoor school record.

The team of Ricco Hall, Levi Gipson, Christian Sanderfer and Cody Rush ran an incredible race to finish with a record-breaking time of 3:07.63. The team of three freshmen and a sophomore won the second section of the event, holding on to finish seventh overall. The previous school record was 3:07.64, set on March 13, 1992.

Janis Leitis posted a ninth-place finish in the men's triple jump, notching a leap of 51-9 ¼ (15.78) and closing out a busy two days of competition for the senior. He recorded the mark in the third round, advancing to the event finals, and held on for the top-10 finish.

Mara Griva completed her final NCAA Indoor Championships with an 11th-place finish in the women's triple jump. She recorded a leap of 42-4 (12.90), posting that jump on her first attempt of the event, marking her best triple jump performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships during her Husker career.

James White completed his first indoor season with the Huskers with a jump of 7-0 ½ (2.15). He finished 16th in the final standings.

In the team standings the men finished tied for 32nd with six total points.
