Herrmann Leads Huskers in Texas

Midland, Texas - Marc Herrmann advanced to the consolation semifinals to lead the Nebraska men's tennis contingent at the season-opening Racquet Club Collegiate over the weekend.

Herrman made his way to the consolation semifinals by beating TCU's Will Stein, 6-4, 7-5, before knocking off Peter Frank from Rice, 8-6 in Saturday's consolation quarterfinals. Herrmann's tournament run ended with a hard-fought, 7-9 loss to New Mexico's Mitch McDaniels.

Nebraska's Andre Stenger also made a trip to the consolation quarterfinals by defeating Texas-Arlington's Yauheni Yakauleu, 6-4, 6-2. Stenger had his singles action end with an loss to Abilene Christian's Borja Cortes, 3-8.

The Huskers return to action this weekend by traveling to the Denver Invitational, Sept. 21-23.
