The Nebraska swimming team will compete in this weekend's TYR Invitational held in Evanston, Ill., from Nov. 18-20.The invite serves as the Huskers' second invitational of the year and pits NU against seven other teams, including Northwestern, UIC, Illinois, Kenyon, Cleveland State, Missouri State and Iowa State. The Huskers are coming off of a 192-100 defeat of UNO for their second dual win of the season.

Following the TYR Invitational, the Nebraska diving squad will travel to the Iowa Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa on Dec. 2. The U.S. Diving nationals will also take place on Dec. 15 before a month-long break that will include the Huskers' annual holiday training trip.

Divers Payton Michaud and Kaitlan Walker both set personal-best dive scores against UNO. Michaud's won the 1-meter dive with a score of 284.63. Her previous best at Nebraska was 284.15 set at last year's Big 12 Championships. Walker also won her event, the 3-meter dive after earning 294.88 in six dives. Her previous best at Nebraska was 284.75.
Bailey Pons won three events(100-, 200-, and 500-Yard Freestyle) on the day against UNO. She was just one of nine Huskers who notched an individual win against the Mavericks.

The Nebraska swimming and diving team defeated the University of Nebraska - Omaha Mavericks on Nov.11, 192-100 at the Devany Natatorium. The Huskers, who are 2-0 on the season, now hold a 15-0 all-time series lead on the Mavs.
Nebraska set the tone from the start, winning the first six events on the afternoon. The 200-yard medley relay team of Ellan Dufour, Shannon Guy, Natalie Morris and Hayley Martin won the first event of the day, followed by individual wins by Riley Seidel (1000-yard freestyle), Bailey Pons (200-yard freestyle), Hayley Martin (100-yard backstroke), Kristin Strecker (100-yard breast) and Shannon Guy (200-yard butterfly).
Camille Hansberry of UNO got the Mav's in the win column with her effort in the 50-yard freestyle before Payton Michaud took the 1-meter dive in the eighth event of the afternoon. Michaud's score of 284.63 is a career-best at Nebraska, topping a previous best of 284.15 set at last year's Big 12 Championships.
Pons went on to win two more events on the afternoon (100-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle) and Dufour earned a victory in the 200-yard backstroke. Natalie Morris (100-yard butterfly) and Kaitlan Walker (3-meter dive) rounded out the dual with wins of their own for NU. Walker, along with Michaud, earned herself a career-best score of 294.88. Her previous career best was 282.75 against South Dakota last season.
