Lincoln, Neb. - Seven Nebraska gymnasts earned Scholastic All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women the association announced Wednesday.
The Huskers' selection included an impressive group of gymnasts. Maria Scaffidi led the way with an outstanding GPA of 3.97 in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education. Janelle Giblin followed close behind with a 3.96 GPA in Speech-Language Pathology. Kassandra Nathe and Emily Wong each earned a spot with a GPA of 3.89 in Child, Youth and Family Studies and Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science. Former Husker Kristin Fyffe tabbed a GPA of 3.76 in Accounting, while Deanna Barmore was honored after posting a GPA of 3.72 in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science. Kaitlin Reid rounded out the selection of Huskers with a GPA of 3.65 in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science.
The NACGC/W is the national association for women's collegiate gymnastics coaches. The association seeks to actively manage and develop the sport of women's gymnastics at the collegiate level and works with the NCAA and USA Gymnastics in order to provide the best possible experience for student-athletes.
