Huskers Provide Solid Finish at USA, Jamaican Championships

Lincoln- Three former and one current Husker produced a strong showing in competition at the USA Championships and the Jamaican National Championships on Sunday. 2011 seniors Chantae McMillan and Paul Hamilton and former Husker Dusty Jonas competed in Eugene, Ore., while freshman Chad Wright threw shot put in Kingston, Jamaica.

McMillan completed the women's heptathlon and finished third with a total of 6003 points. A native of Rolla, Mo., she stood in seventh place after the first day of competition.

Jonas, an eight-time All-American at Nebraska, notched a second-place finish on high jump, with a mark of 7-7 (2.31).

Hamilton, who was a four-time All-American on high jump as a Husker, posted a mark of 7-0 1/2 (2.15) to tie for 12th at the competition.

With a shot put throw of 54-1 1/4 (16.49), Wright placed fifth at the Jamaican National Championships.
