Columbus, Ga.—Nebraska rifle team member Katie Kostal shot an air rifle score of 567 on Saturday to complete her competition at the NCAA Division I Rifle Championships. Kostal shot in the first flight of competitors during Saturday’s air rifle portion, finishing 11th out of 12th in the flight. The event was won by Nicco Campriani of West Virginia, who shot a preliminary score of 599 and a final score of 102 for a combined 701.
Kentucky captured the team national championship at the end of competition, with a combined score of 4,700 in smallbore and air rifle. The Wildcats were closely followed by West Virginia, who shot their way to a team score of 4,697 for the national runner-up title.
Kostal’s finish officially brings the season to an end for all members of the Nebraska rifle team. The squad finished 3-9 as a team and 6th overall at the Great American Rifle Conference championships.
