After coming off a big win last weekend against the Wisconsin Badgers, the No. 32 Nebraska Cornhuskers look to keep their momentum going when they travel to Denver, Colo., for a pair of matches. The first match on Saturday will be against the No. 44 UNLV Runnin' Rebels. The match will begin at 1 p.m. If the match has to be played indoors due to weather, it will begin at 7 p.m. On Sunday the Huskers will take on the Denver Pioneers. The match will begin at 1 p.m. If the two teams are unable to play the match outdoors because of weather, the match will begin at 10 a.m.
History with the Pioneers
Denver and Nebraska have met in the past five seasons. During that period, the Huskers are 1-4 against the Pioneers. Denver won last season's meeting in Lincoln, Neb., 4-3. The Huskers lone win came in 2008 when they defeated Denver, 5-2.
Last Weekend: Huskers Upend Badgers
In a match between two evenly ranked teams, No. 41 Nebraska defeated No. 40 Wisconsin (4-5), 5-2 on Feb. 26 at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wis. The match moved the Huskers to 7-4 on the season. With the win, the Huskers are 1-1 against future Big Ten opponents.
The match started with the Huskers winning the doubles point. The No. 58 ranked duo of Christopher Aumueller and Calin Paar defeated Wisconsin's Ricardo Martin and Rodney Carey, 8-4.
In singles play, at the No. 1 spot in the Huskers' line-up was No. 102 Christopher Aumueller, who defeated Wisconsin's Marek Michalicka, 7-6, (7-5), 6-2. At the No. 2 spot was senior Calin Paar. He defeated the Badgers' Ricardo Martin, 6-2, 6-2.
At the No. 3 spot in the Huskers' line-up, Benedikt Lindheim defeated Wisconsin's Bill Bertha, 6-4, 6-3. The other Huskers winning his singles match was Sebastian Florczyk, who defeated Fredrik Ask, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
Nebraska's Andre Stenger was defeated at the No. 4 spot by Wisconsin's Petr Satral, 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3). The other Husker to be defeated in singles play was Robert Schulze. He was defeated by Rodney Carey, 6-5 (8-6), 6-4. Schulze was playing at the No. 5 spot in the Huskers' line-up.
First Computer Rankings Out; Huskers Jump Nine Spots
The first computerized Intercollegiate Tennis Association were released on Tuesday, March 2, and the Huskers jumped up nine spots to No. 32. The Huskers were previously No. 41 in the country before winning their match against the No. 40 Wisconsin Badgers. The Huskers also have two singles players ranked- No. 110 Christopher Aumueller and No. 123 Benedikt Lindheim.

Scouting the UNLV Runnin' Rebels
The UNLV Runnin' Rebels are 10-5 on the season and are ranked No. 44 in the country. Going into this weekend's match against the Huskers, UNLV has won five of their last seven matches. UNLV is coming off a 4-2 victory over No. 58 Arkansas on Feb. 27. One player to watch out for is senior Mehdi Bouras who was recently named the Mountain West Conference player of the week for the third consecutive week. Along with the player of the week honors, Bouras is ranked No. 66 in singles play in the latest ITA rankings. UNLV is coached by Owen Hambrook, who is in his eighth season at the helm.
Scouting the Denver Pioneers
The Denver Pioneers are 2-7 on the season. The Pioneers have been playing sophomore No. 54 Enej Bonin at the No. 1 spot, where he is 4-6 on the year. Bonin has one win over a ranked opponent when he defeated Michigan's No. 35 Jason Jung. Leading the Denver Pioneers is fifth-year head coach Danny Westerman.
