Austin, Texas - The Nebraska swimming and diving team finished up their second full day of competition at the Big 12 Championships on Friday evening. The Huskers have one more full day on Saturday before the events conclusion. Saturday's prelims will begin at 10 a.m.
400 Medley Relay: The Huskers finished fifth in the first final of the evening. The team of Ellan Dufour, Shannon Guy, Kelsey Grushecky and Ariel Weech swam the event with a time of 3:42.43, the fifth-fastest time in Nebraska history. They were just .03 off of the fourth-fastest time in NU history.

One Meter Diving: Payton Michaud earned the Huskers first top-five finish of the Big 12 Championships. Her diving score of 284.15 was good for fifth-place in the event and was her career-best diving score. Her previous best was 278.48. Kaitlan Walker finished just point .05 outside of the top-eight for a ninth-place finish with a score of 264.50.

400-IM: Blaine Hoppenrath finished the "B" finals for Nebraska with an eleventh-place effort and a season-best time of 4.23.70. Brandie Kavalec also set a season-best in her efforts with her time of 4.28.99. Her previous season best was 4:32.34.

100-Butterfly: In the fourth event of the night, the 100-fly, Kelsey Grushecky and Shannon Guy scored in the "B" finals for NU. Grushecky's eleventh place finish in 54.89 was her season high and would have been top-five all-time at NU if she didnt already hold the second-fastest time in NU history at 54.32. Shannon Guy's time of 54.97 was just .03 off of top-five honors. Earlier in the season, Guy swam the fourth-fastest 100-fly in NU history.

200 Freestyle: Hayley Martin and Bailey Pons finished back-to-back in the "B" finals. Martin's twelfth-place time of 1:49.43 was three seconds faster than her previous career-best time. Bailey Pons finished 13th in the event at 1:49.73, also three seconds faster than her previous career-best time.

100-Breaststroke: Shannon Guy scored in her second-event of the day in the 100-breast. She finished in twelfth-place with a time of 1:03.72, a new career-best. Her previous best was set at 1:04.60.

12. Shannon Guy, Nebraska - 1:03.72
100-Backstroke: Ellan Dufour finished in 15th place as she set a new NU record and career-best time at 55.08. The time was the second-fastest time in NU's swimming history. It was also Guy's best time ever by 1.51 seconds.
