Defensive back Eric Hagg has been added to the North roster for the 2011 Senior Bowl which is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
The addition of Hagg to the North team for the Senior Bowl gives Nebraska six representatives in the contest, generally regarded as the top senior all-star game. The Huskers' six representatives is the most in 2011, two more than any other school this season. Joining Hagg on the North roster are Pierre Allen, Roy Helu Jr., Alex Henery, Mike McNeill and Niles Paul. Cornerback Prince Amukamara was also invited to play in the game, but elected not to participate.
Hagg was voted as his teammates as the Team MVP for the 2010 Huskers. The 6-2, 210-pound Hagg one of the leaders of a Blackshirt unit that finished in the top five nationally in passing yards allowing and pass efficiency defense, while also ranking in the top 12 in total defense and scoring defense.
Hagg finished the season with a team-high five interceptions and had 49 tackles, including 39 solo stops. He was chosen as a first-team All-Big 12 choice by both the Big 12 coaches and the Associated Press.
Saturday's Senior Bowl will be televised live on the NFL Network beginning at 3 p.m. Practices throughout the week can also be seen on the NFL Network, beginning with Monday afternoon's workout.
