Kansas City, Mo. – The Nebraska men’s golf team shot a team total of 909 after three rounds at the UMKC Bill Ross Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, finishing in ninth place out of 14 teams. Their score of 301 on Monday was followed by rounds of 298 and 310 on Tuesday at Blue Hills Country Club.
Scott Willman notched a tie for 11th finish individually in the 81-man field. He led NU with his 221 total over three rounds. The next finisher for Nebraska was Neil Dufford, whose 228 strokes put him in a tie for 28th. Brett Nymeyer finished tied for 37th, with his 230 total, while Andrew Wyatt (232 total) and Mike Coatman (234 total) tied for 47th and 55th respectively. Individual Brett Sundberg tied for 23rd overall, shooting 226.
Central Arkansas won the team title with a total of 876 strokes. Nate Barbee of Kansas won the individual crown with a 3-under 213 score over three rounds.
Nebraska tees it up next at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Oct. 25-26 in New Mexico.
