Lincoln, Neb. - Three Nebraska gymnasts were honored for academic excellence by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women as Scholastic All-Americans, the association announced.
The Huskers' selection included an impressive group of upper and underclassmen. Kristin Fyffe led the way with a 3.77 GPA. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Fyffe is an accounting major at Nebraska. Following her lead was Kathryn Howard, posting a 3.71 GPA. Howard is an advertising major from Houston, Texas. In addition, Kylie Stone rounded out the group, each earning a 3.50 GPA. Stone is an elementary education major from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
In order to be named as an individual scholar athlete by the NACGC/W, student-athletes must possess a 3.5 or higher current or cumulative GPA.
The NACGC/W is a national association for women's collegiate gymnastics coaches, which seeks to provide the best possible experience for student-athletes. Working with the NCAA and USA Gymnastics, the association actively develops and manages the sport of women's gymnastics at the national collegiate level.
