Ames, Iowa - The Nebraska women's tennis team earned their fifth conference win of the season with a 6-1 win over Iowa State on Friday afternoon in Ames, Iowa. The Huskers ran their overall record to 16-2 on the year, matching the number of wins the team had in the previous two seasons. Iowa State fell to 9-9 on the year and 2-4 in the conference.
The Huskers started the match by taking two of the three doubles matches and winning the doubles point, taking a 1-0 lead into singles play. Nebraska wasted no time in putting the Cyclones away in singles play, as Wiveca Swarting, Janine Weinreich and Mary Weatherholt all earned straight set victories to put the Huskers up 4-0 and clinch the team victory.

The Huskers return home next weekend for their final two home matches of the year, against Texas Tech on Friday, April 9, and against No. 2 Baylor on Sunday, April 11.
