Huskers Post Day's Low Round, Climb to Sixth at USF Invitational

Dade City, Fla. - Three Huskers posted rounds under par as the Nebraska men's golf team scored a tournament-best 280 in the second round of the South Florida Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf Club on Saturday. Nebraska climbed 10 spots into sixth place with 18 holes remaining on Sunday. The Huskers, at 577, trail Florida Southern by eight strokes.

Andrew Wyatt led the way for NU with a career-best tying round of 68. Wyatt, who is tied for seventh place overall at 141 (-3), made five birdies to just one bogey on the day while climbing 24 spots in the standings.

Brandon Crick is tied for 12th after a second-round 70. Crick eagled No. 11 to move to four-under par, but double-bogeyed No. 14 and bogeyed No. 18 to drop outside of the top 10.

Scott Willman is tied for 36th place after scoring a 73 for a 36-hole total of 147. Mike Coatman was the third Husker in red numbers as he matched his career-best round of 69, aided by six birdies. Coatman is tied for 42nd at 148. Brett Nymeyer capped off the Husker lineup in a tie for 73rd at 151.

Florida Southern's Matt Stauch leads the field with an 11-under-par 133.

Sunday's final round begins at 7 a.m. CST.
