Dade City, Fla. - The Nebraska men's golf team is tied for 16th place after round one at the USF Invitational on Friday at Lake Jovita Golf Club. The Huskers scored a 297 team total, placing them 11 strokes behind the leader, North Florida.
Brandon Crick and Andrew Wyatt led the Huskers in round one with one-over-par 73s. They are tied for 31st place, five strokes behind the leaders.
Crick made three birdies in his first seven holes, but then recorded three straight bogeys to drop back to even after 10 holes. Wyatt finished his first nine at one-under par, but recorded two double-bogeys in the final nine holes in addition to two birdies.
Scott Willman shot a two-over-par 74 and is tied for 48th place. Brett Nymeyer scored a 77 and is tied for 90th place, and Mike Coatman recorded a 79, tying him for 99th place.
The first wave of players tees off the second round Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. CST, and the second wave begins at 10:30 a.m. CST. Huskers.com will post results at the conclusion of the second round.
