Lincoln - Nebraska women's tennis head coach Scott Jacobson earned his 250th career victory as the Huskers swept Air Force 7-0 on Saturday morning at the Nebraska Tennis Center. The Huskers earned their first sweep of the season and improved to 7-0 on the year, while Air Force snapped a seven-match win streak and fell to 7-2.
The Huskers started the match by taking all three doubles matches and winning the doubles point, highlighted by Madeleine Geibert and Stefanie Weinstein's 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles. The Huskers won 8-4 at the No. 2 spot and 8-5 at the No. 3 spot to complete the sweep of the doubles matches.
Geibert was the first on the board for the Huskers in singles play, easily defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. NU's Wiveca Swarting finished her match shortly after, winning 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to make the score 3-0 Nebraska. Janine Weinreich clinched the match for the Huskers with a 6-4, 6-3 win at the No. 6 spot. Weinstein and Mary Weatherholt rounded out the scoring for Nebraska, completing the 7-0 sweep.
The win over the Falcons was the first of two matches the Huskers have on the day, as they take on Drake later Saturday afternoon. First serve against the Bulldogs is at 3 p.m.
