Huskers Move to Ninth in National Rankings

Lincoln - After advancing to 3-0 over the weekend and defeating Minnesota and Illinois, the Nebraska women's gymnastics team moved to ninth in the national rankings this week in the latest GymInfo poll released Monday. The poll, which is calculated by average team score, also ranks NU third in the South Central region and second in the Big 12 Conference. In addition, the Huskers are fourth nationally in team vault scoring (49.187), 11th on bars (48.85), 18th on beam (48.512) and tenth on floor (48.90).

Individually, junior Maria Scaffidi is tied for seventh on floor (9.887) and 13th in the all-around (39.125). Junior Erin Davis is tied for first on vault (9.912), and senior Kylie Stone is tied for 20th (9.85). Sophomore Lora Evenstad comes in tied at 25th on bars (9.825) and 18th on floor (9.85). Senior Kathryn Howard is also tied for eighth on beam (9.85).

The Huskers host Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 24 at the Devaney Center. Competition is set to being at 2 p.m.
