Cabot, Ark. - All-American Cassandra Leuthold placed sixth individually, as the Nebraska bowling team earned a fifth-place finish at the Mid-Winter Classic in Cabot, Ark., this weekend. NU earned a total pinfall of 11,494 over the three-day tournament.
Three Huskers placed within the top-20 standings, including Leuthold, who earned her fourth top-10 finish on the year with a 208 average. The Mid-Winter Classic marks the fourth time this season Leuthold has averaged above a 200. Junior Katie Ann Sopp placed 15th with a 196 average, while sophomore Danielle van der Meer placed 17th with a 191 average.
Maryland-Eastern Shore topped the competition, rolling a total pinfall of 12,098. Central Missouri State University placed second with a 11,910 pinfall, while Delaware earned a third-place finish with a 11,859 pinfall. Arkansas State placed fourth with a 11,650 pinfall.
The Huskers will return to action on Feb. 5-7 at the Griffin Invitational in St. Louis, Mo.
