- The victory by Texas Tech ended a six-game Nebraska home winning streak, including three straight over Big 12 foes.
- Nebraska now leads the all-time series between the two schools 7-4, however Tech has won four straight against the Huskers.
- Nebraska dropped its Big 12 home opener for the second straight season and for just the second time in the 14-year history of the Big 12 Conference.
- The crowd of 86,107 today was the second-largest in school history trailing only the 86,304 fans that saw Nebraska defeat Louisiana-Lafayette on Sept. 26 in the 300th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium.
- Senior defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh picked up four total tackles in today’s game, including two tackles for loss and four quarterback hurries. Suh has now had at least one tackle for loss in 16 of Nebraska’s past 17 games, including the last 10 games.
- Suh’s two tackles for loss pushed his career total to 42 moving him into fifth on the Nebraska career tackles for loss list.
- Defensive end Pierre Allen recorded a career-high 2.0 sacks for 10 yards.
- Defensive end Barry Turner had 1.5 sacks for 20 yards, pushing his career total to 13.5. Turner is just 2.5 sacks outside of the Nebraska career top 10.
- Senior linebacker Phillip Dillard recorded a career-high 12 tackles in today’s game, including a career-best four tackles for loss. Dillard’s previous career bests were 11 tackles vs. Virginia Tech in 2008 and one TFL in six different games.
- Nebraska allowed 31 points in today’s game, ending a streak of five straight games of allowing 16 or fewer points. Despite the 31 points by Tech, Nebraska is allowing just 11.8 points per game on the season.
- Junior I-back Roy Helu Jr. rushed 16 times for 68 yards. Helu also caught one pass for 27 yards and accounted for 95 all-purpose yards. Helu moved up one spot to 30th on the Nebraska career rushing list.
- Nebraska junior place-kicker Alex Henery connected on a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter, marking his 22nd straight made field goal from 50 yards and in. Henery missed a 51-yard attempt in the third quarter for just his fifth career miss. He is now 35-of-39 in his career.
- Senior wide receiver Chris Brooks caught a career-high five passes for 66 yards in today’s game. His previous career best was three catches for 50 yards against Louisiana-Lafayette.
- Junior tight end Mike McNeill caught two passes for 14 yards, giving him 16 straight games with at least one reception. McNeill has 47 career receptions, moving him within eight catches of the top 25 on the NU career list.
- Redshirt freshman receiver Khiry Cooper caught a 13-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for his first career touchdown. Cooper finished the game with three receptions for 23 yards, after entering the game with three catches for 32 yards.
- Nebraska had failed on just one red-zone trip prior to today, but was 2-of-5 in the red zone this afternoon.
- Nebraska did not score in the first quarter of today’s game. Nebraska had scored a touchdown in all 12 quarters at home in the first three games this season.
- The fumble return for a touchdown by Texas Tech in the first quarter was the first by an opponent since Clemson’s DeAndre McDaniel returned a fumble 28 yards for a touchdown against the Huskers in the 2009 Gator Bowl.
- True freshmen I-back Dontrayevous Robinson appeared for the first time this season.
- Today’s Nebraska game captains were junior defensive end Pierre Allen, sophomore cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, senior center Jacob Hickman and junior receiver Niles Paul.
