The Nebraska men's golf team is in second place heading into Tuesday's final round of the Fairway Club Invitational at Arbor Links Golf Course. The Huskers trail Drake by just three strokes. NU followed up on its 282 first round with a 283 second round. Drake also posted a 283 in the second round after a 279 first round.
Junior Andrew Wyatt led NU on the day and is tied for third place overall with a 139 (-5). Scott Willman is alone in sixth place, carding a 142 (-2) through two rounds.
Mike Coatman and Neil Dufford are tied for seventh after posting even-par 144s in the first 36 holes. Brandon Crick rebounded from a 76 first round to score 70 in the second round to lead NU. Crick is tied for 17th with a 146.
Coach Bill Spangler also has five individuals playing in the tournament. Tyler Parsloe is tied for 24th at 147. Brett Sundberg and Jordan Reinertson are tied for 26th at 148. Brett Nymeyer is tied for 35th with a 150, and Austin Zimmerman is tied for 44th at 152.
Drake's Ben Freeman tore up the course with a 68 and 66 for a 10-under-par 134 on Monday. Freeman leads his teammate, Cody Schweinefus, by three strokes.
The final round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start.
