Game 11: Nebraska (9-3-1)  vs. Cal State Northridge (5-7)   


The Huskers will look to complete a four-game sweep of Cal State Northridge this afternoon at 1p.m. Michael Mariot looks for his first win and will take on left-hander Bryan Harper.

4:10 p.m.
We are on to the ninth inning with the Huskers up 8-1 and Hauptman back on the mound

3:59 p.m.
Hauptman works a scoreless eighth, as Nebraska remains ahead 8-1

3:55 p.m.
The Huskers got quietly in the seventh, much to the dismay of a man in a gorilla costume in the stands. Mariot's day is done after a career-high seven innings of work. Hauptman now pitching for the Huskers in the eighth.

3:41 p.m.
Mariot retires the side in order in the seventh and it is stretch time in Lincoln with the Huskers up 8-1

3:33 p.m.
For the first time since the first, the Huskers were held scoreless in the bottom of the sixth and take a 8-1 lead into the seventh.

3:26 p.m.
Mariot works through the sixth without much trouble and has allowed one run on five hits in matching the longest start of his career. Mariot also went six innings at UL Lafayette in the season opener

3:17 p.m.
Tyler Farst singles to make Nebraska's lead 8-1 after 5 innings

2:59 p.m.
After the top of the 5th Huskers continue to lead 7-1 and are getting ready to heat the bats up again in the bottom of the inning.  The clouds are trying to lift at the ballpark and the temperature is creeping up, but it continues to be a blustery afternoon at Hawks Field.

2:47 p.m.
More longball from the Huskers, as Kyle Bubak's homer to center makes it 6-1 before Cody Neer adds an RBI single to plate Jeff Tezak with the Huskers' seventh run. Nebraska leads 7-1 after four innings

Cal State Northridge pushes across a run and trails 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth.

2:17 p.m.
The Huskers extend their lead to 5-0 thanks in part to Cody Neer's first homer of the season. NU knocked out CSUN starter Bryan Harper after 2.1 innings of work

1:47 p.m.
Cal State Northridge get an infield single, but the Huskers lead 3-0 in the bottom of the third.

1:27 p.m.
Jake Mort shows off some unexpected power, lining a three-run homer to right to give the Huskers a 3-0 cushion in the top of the third.

1:27 p.m.
Another 3-up, 3-down inning for Mariot as we head into the bottom of the second. Fans across the state can listen today, as KFAB 1110 AM in Omaha is also carrying today's contest

1:21 p.m.
The Huskers get two base runners on, but can't score as the Matadors turn a 4-6-3 double play to get out of the first inning

1:11 p.m.
Mariot puts down the Matadors in order in the top of the first and the Huskers are coming to bat.

12:59 p.m.
Its up to 42 degrees at the ballpark with winds 15-22 from the Northwest as we are nearly ready to play baseball this afternoon. The two head coaches are meeting at home plate. Hopefully everyone set the clocks ahead last night for the start of daylight savings time.

12:42 p.m.
The sun is starting to poke its way out of the clouds and an after a dreary morning, blue skies are starting to warm up the area.

The lineups for both teams have been posted. The Huskers have a right-handed dominated lineup as DJ Belfonte and Nick Sullivan are the only lefties in today's lineup.
