In her heat, Lopes-Schliep finished behind Lolo Jones (USA), who ran a personal-best time of 12.43 and Delloreen Ennis-Londong (Jamaica), who was .01 second faster than Lopes-Schliep at 12.67.

Lopes-Schliep will now compete in the 100-meter hurdle final at 9:30 a.m. (Central) on Tuesday. She will look to capture the Huskers’ first medal in the hurdles in the history of the program and the first Olympic medal on the women’s side since Merlene Ottey (Jamaica) was part of the silver medal winning 4x100-meter relay team in Sydney in 2000.
