Cedar Falls, Iowa-The Nebraska wrestling squad won seven of its first eight matches against No. 9 Northwestern as the No. 10 Huskers (7-1) claimed a 25-9 victory over the Wildcats in the first round of the National Duals on Saturday.
The Huskers had outstanding performances from several wrestlers, but the most exciting match of the day went to Jordan Burroughs at 149 pounds. Burroughs, a sophomore ranked sixth in the nation, squared off against No. 5 Ryan Lang of Northwestern. Burroughs battled the first two periods, but entered the third down 6-3. Lang, who has missed time because of injuries, tired in the final stanza as Burroughs scored three takedowns in the period, including one in the final two seconds, to earn the come-from-behind win.

Dwyer tweaked his ankle midway through the first period and writhed on the mat in pain for several seconds. Dwyer took advantage of the injury timeout to recuperate and get some advice as he returned and pinned Marella within 30 seconds.
