Nebraska Captures Win at Air Force

Colorado Springs, Colo. ? Sophomore Amanda Jeffries and freshman Ryann McGough tied for first individually in air rifle, while sophomore Christine Costello took top honors in smallbore, leading Nebraska to a 4,619-4,499 win over Air Force on Thursday.

 

Costello posted a score of 574 in smallbore, as well as a 585 in air rifle for fourth place. Jeffries and McGough matched each other with marks of 588 in air rifle, and Jeffries also put up a 558 smallbore score.

 

In the team competition, the Huskers topped the Falcons in both disciplines, outshooting Air Force with team totals of 2,347 (air rifle) and 2,272 (smallbore).

 

Nebraska returns to action at West Virginia in Morgantown, W.Va., on Jan. 12, followed by the Palmyra Invite in Palmyra, Pa., on Jan. 13.
