The Nebraska men's tennis team has signed another talented recruit to scholarship, as it announced that Calin Paar, from Munich, Germany, will be joining the team in January of 2008. Paar is currently the 105th-ranked player in Germany.
"Calin will be a huge impact player for our team right now and in the future," head coach Kerry McDermott said. "He is a very good student and a very hard worker who wants to continue to build on last year's success as a team."
Last year, the Huskers finished the season with a 9-11 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the Big 12, their best since 2002.
"We are looking for Calin to help our team continue to rise in the national rankings and in the Big 12," McDermott said.
Paar is set to join the team in time for the 2008 spring season. He will be one of three newcomers on the 2008 NU team, joining Tobias Schneider, another player set to arrive in January, and Taylor Boney, a freshman who played with the Huskers during the fall season. Nebraska kicks off its season on Jan. 19, as it plays two matches against Creighton and Air Force.
