Men's Tennis Adds Versatile Lindheim

The Nebraska men's tennis team announced that it has signed Benedikt Lindheim, a talented player from Regensburg, Germany, to scholarship for the 2008-09 season. Lindheim, who has a current ranking of #141 in Germany, is scheduled to arrive in Lincoln in August of 2008.

"Benedikt is a very talented player who will have a big impact on our program," head coach Kerry McDermott said. "He is a very good student who will represent the University of Nebraska with great pride on and off the tennis court."

McDermott said he expects Lindheim to help Nebraska's continued success in the Big 12 Conference, where they finished fourth in 2006-07.

"He will no doubt help our team build on last year's success in the Big 12, and keep this team moving in the right direction in the Big 12 Conference and on the national level," said McDermott.

The 2008 men's tennis spring season begins on Jan. 19, with a double-header against Creighton and Air Force.
