Lawrence, KS - Freshman Mike Coatman blazed through the Alvamar Golf Club in round one of the Kansas Invitational. Coatman shot an even-par 72 and shares the lead with four other golfers, with 36 holes still to be played in the tournament. Coatman matched the career-best 72 that he recorded at the St. Mary's Invitational last week.
Nebraska is tied for 11th in the 16-team tournament after shooting a team score of 304. UNC Wilmington leads with a score of 292. The second round gets underway Monday afternoon.
