Lincoln ? Nebraska announced the addition of Adam Dailey to its 2007-08 incoming class of athletes Thursday. Dailey became the 20th athlete to sign a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Husker track and field program next season.
A native of Wahoo, Neb., Dailey helped boost the Bishop Neumann boys’ team to a third-place finish during last month’s Nebraska Class B state meet. The prep sprinter/hurdler claimed three Class B event titles, including the All-Class Gold Medal in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.17. In addition to winning Class B crowns in the 110-meter hurdles (14.65) and 400-meter dash (49.74), Dailey also ran on the Cavaliers’ bronze-medal 4x400-meter relay.
Dailey also placed in four events during his junior season to help Bishop Neumann finish fourth in 2006: the 400 (second), 300 hurdles (39.08), 110-meter hurdles (fifth) and 4x400 relay (fourth). He earned fifth place in the 400 during his first state meet appearance as a sophomore in 2005.
Dailey is the fourth hurdler to sign on to train under assistant coach Billy Maxwell next season. Both of NU’s overseas signees for 2007-08, Arna Erega and Lehann Fourie, will also be tutored by Maxwell, as will Texas prep standout Karyn LaCour.
