On I-back Brandon Jackson
“Brandon has just played very well the last few weeks, really ever since IowaState. He has kind of given us a little extra added dimension as a physical runner and a guy who can make people miss at the second level. He’s really kind of separated himself a little bit I think in the way that he’s played.”
On Jackson not receiving as many carries at the beginning of the season
“We had four backs that never established themselves. We’re learning about these guys every week that we play games during this season. He’s been a guy who has played very well the last few weeks. When you play well, you get more opportunities and that’s what’s kind of happened with Brandon.”
On Texas’ running out of the shotgun and the advantages of that offense
“We like to run downhill. We don’t like to run east and west. A lot of the gun runs are east and west. That’s just our style. We run some out of the gun because you just try to keep your percentages matched up and keep people honest. But we would rather run downhill.”
On quarterback Zac Taylor’s progression this season
“Zac has played well in really every game. He could have played better Saturday. He could have played better in the last couple weeks. He knows that there are areas where he has to improve on, where he’s missed a couple receivers and missed a couple reads. He’ll continue to learn from that and improve.”
