Lincoln ? The University of Nebraska Ticket Office announced that single-match tickets for the 2006 season went on sale Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 8 a.m.
Single-match ticket prices are $14 (floor and lower balcony), $8 (adult general admission) and $6 (youth general admission). There is a limited quantity for many of the home matches. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Athletic Ticket Office, located across the street from Memorial Stadium beginning at 8 a.m., by calling 1-800-8-BIGRED, or by logging onto Huskers.com. Ticket Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The ticket line began forming outside the Nebraska Athletic ticket Office at 10th Street and Stadium Drive on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and the line extended outside the ticket office doors onto the sidewalk by Wednesday at 8 a.m.
The 17-match home schedule includes 11 matches against NCAA qualifiers, including home matches against NCAA regional qualifiers Louisville (Sept. 10) and Missouri (Oct. 25). The slate also features a pair of in-season tournaments, the Husker Labor Day Tournament (Sept. 1-3) and the Players Challenge (Sept. 7-9).
In addition, tickets for the Nebraska-Creighton match at the Qwest Center Omaha on Sunday, Sept. 24, will go on sale from Ticketmaster on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Prices for that match range from $8 to $16 and can be purchased at the Qwest Center box office, at Ticketmaster locations throughout Nebraska (Baker’s, Younkers and the Nebraska Student Union in Lincoln), over the phone at (402) 422-1212 or at www.ticketmaster.com.
The Huskers return four starters from a team that went 33-2 and reached the NCAA Championship match last year, including first-team All-Americans Sarah Pavan and Christina Houghtelling. In addition, Nebraska welcomes a recruiting class that is ranked in the top 10 nationally by both Volleyball Magazine and PrepVolleyball.com.
The Huskers begin fall camp on Tuesday, Aug. 8, while the Red/White Scrimmage and Alumni Match set for Saturday, Aug. 26. Tickets for the Red/White Scrimmage are $8 for adults, $6 for youth and seniors. In addition, there is no cost for UNL students with a valid student ID and children ages 6-and-under.
