Lincoln - Seven members of the Nebraska women’s golf team earned recognition from the conference for their academic accomplishments by being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll.
Senior Jackie Beste, who earned her degree from Nebraska in May as an accounting major, was one of the leaders in the classroom for the Huskers. The first-team academic All-Big 12 selection also earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as a women's at-large selection. Beste, a native of Sauk Centre, Minn., earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in each of her eight semesters at Nebraska.
Beste was joined on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll by fellow senior Chelsea Gehring, who captured her 10th straight spot on the honor roll. Junior Chrissie McArdle and sophomore Allison Stewart, who were both members of the Nebraska lineup that finished 20th at the NCAA Championships in May, were also honored for their efforts in the classroom.
Junior Andrea Dunagan, a six-time honor roll selection, and redshirt freshman Megan Place, a four-time honor roll pick, rounded out the list of current Huskers who earned spots on the honor roll. while former Husker Merynn Ito added her 10th straight selection to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll after earning her journalism degree from Nebraska in May.
The Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the previous semester. Overall, Nebraska had 249 student-athletes named to the spring honor roll, including 38 who produced perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the spring semester.
