Huskers Beat Belmont

Little Rock, Ark. - The No. 59 Nebraska men's tennis team defeated Belmont, 5-2, in Little Rock, Ark., Saturday at Burns Park Tennis Complex.

The Huskers dominated Belmont in doubles with wins at all three spots.  Senior Jerry Posch and sophomore Mark Tate defeated Alex Gillott and Ingacio Gesto, 8-2, in the No. 1 spot.  Junior Adrian Szatmary and senior Joerg Barthel beat Fausto Rocha and Javier Rodriguez, 9-7, at the No. 2 slot, while juniors James Clow and Arturo Navarro defeated Felipe Lima and Felipe Abreu at the No. 3 spot.

In singles action, Posch won at the No. 1 spot, defeating Gillott, 6-2, 6-2.  At No. 3, Clow defeated Rocha, 6-2, 6-2, while freshman Renato Melo defeated Gesto, 6-4, 6-7, 11-9.  Barthel beat Abreu at the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-0.

The Huskers return to action Sunday at 9 a.m., when they take on Arkansas-Little Rock at the Burns Park Tennis Complex.
