“I was very proud of Brittney Williams filling in today in the floor lineup,” Head Coach Dan Kendig said. “Our goal was to have her back competing on floor by next weekend, but she had an opportunity to go today. She landed all of her tumbling, but took a small step out of bounds. I think overall we have some great floor routines, and I’m encouraged by what we’re doing on that event.”
Sniatynski was Nebraska’s highest scorer on beam for the second straight week, producing a 9.80 for second. Parsons, Stone and Zabawa landed in a four-way tie for fifth place with scores of 9.775, and Woo followed with a ninth-place 9.70. Carter added a 9.60 to finish 10th, and NU put together a score of 48.825 for the fourth rotation.
“We were good today, but we weren’t great,” Kendig said. “We needed to be great to win this afternoon, as tough as it is to say, we weren’t the best team out here. It will be good to get back home for the next few meets, and I know our team is very close to being where it needs to be.”
The Huskers will return home for the annual Masters Classic on Sunday, Feb. 26. The competition, which will feature San JoseState, Central Michigan and Northern Illinois, is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the BobDevaneySportsCenter.
