Lincoln ? A total of 10 members of the 2005 NCAA runner-up volleyball program were honored Thursday, as the Big 12 Conference released its Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
The list was highlighted by a quartet of student-athletes who posted 4.0 GPA during the fall semester, including AVCA National Player of the Year Christina Houghtelling and first-team All-American Sarah Pavan. Other Huskers recording perfect semesters during the fall included sophomore Tracy Stalls and freshman Amanda Gates.
Of the 13 players on the 2005 roster, 10 posted GPAs of 3.00 or better, including three-time All-American Melissa Elmer, who graduated in December with a degree in marketing, as Nebraska won the Big 12 title and posted a 33-2 record and a runner-up finish.
The Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes who earned a 3.0 grade-point average or higher in the previous semester. Among Nebraska’s 235 award winners, 35 completed the fall semester with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
