Huskers Surge Up Rankings

After a third-place finish at the NWCA National Duals, the Nebraska wrestling team has jumped back into the top five in both major polls.  The Huskers rose nine spots to fifth in the Intermat/NWCA Coaches Poll and 12 spots to No. 3 in WIN Magazine poll.

Nebraska returns to the top five in both polls after a 3-1 weekend at National Duals that saw NU knock off sixth-ranked Iowa, 24-13 and fifth-ranked Michigan, 24-16 before finishing third after a 21-10 win over seventh-ranked Central Michigan.  The Huskers were led by Big 12 Wrestler of the Week Jacob Klein at 174 pounds and Vince Jones at 184 pounds, who both had 4-0 weekends.

Next up for Nebraska (9-3) is American at 7 p.m. at the NU Coliseum in Lincoln on Saturday, Jan. 21.
