“I’m very excited about how we shot today,” Head Coach Launi Meili said.  “We did better today than yesterday and that says a lot for our endurance.  We were able to concentrate until the end.”

The Huskers also bettered their score in smallbore where they finished with a 2,339, three points higher than Saturday’s score of 2,336.  Sophomore Kirsten Weiss put up an impressive performance in the discipline with a score of 585 during team play followed by a 98 in the finals for a first-place total of 683.

Weiss was followed by sophomore Andrea Franz?n, who tied Air Force’s Clifton Mulkey at 681 after the final round, but fell in a shootout with Mulkey scoring a 10 and Franz?n a 9.

Franz?n also showed well in air rifle by tying a career high with a score of 593 to win the competition.  The Huskers took the top five spots in air rifle for the second consecutive day with senior Misty Chanek (589), junior Stacy Underwood (587), sophomore Eva Richert (584) and junior Kristina Fehlings (582) following Franz?n.  Underwood’s score surpassed her previous career high of 582 in the event by five points.
