Soccer Well Represented on Honor Roll

Fourteen Husker soccer players were among 274 Nebraska student-athletes named to the spring 2005 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for earning a grade-point average of 3.0 or better.

Brigid Kenny made the list with a perfect 4.0 GPA, one of 37 NU student-athletes to accomplish the feat. Kenny joined fellow sophomores-to-be Meghan Hungerford, Sari Raber and Jetta Sadusky as two-time honorees.

Lindsey Ingram, who completed her eligibility last season, was named to the honor roll for the seventh time in her career, while Katie Bunkers was honored for the sixth time in her three-year career. Also making repeat appearances on the list were Brooke Bredenberg (second appearance) and Vern Fitzgerald (second).

Making their first appearance on the Honor Roll were Abby Penas, Aly Scace, Katie Wright and Selenia Iacchelli, who will be a freshman for the 2005 season. Former Huskers Breanna Boyd and Iman Haynes were also honored. Boyd completed her athletic eligibility in 2002, while injuries forced Haynes to serve as volunteer assistant coach last season in her final year of eligibility.
