Fourteen NU Track and Field Athletes Graduate

Lincoln, Neb.?A collection of 14 current and former University of Nebraska track and field athletes received degrees during spring commencement ceremonies Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

 

Six current members of the NU men’s squad, who will also be competing in today’s Nebraska Invitational, graduated, including Jesse Colburn (finance), Kyle Doperalski (broadcasting), Kyle Goerl (psychology), Nenad Loncar (economics), Tim Williams (exercise science) and Paul Wilson (English).

                                                         

Eight former Huskers also earned degrees including Authea Chambers (accounting), Ineta Radevica (economics), Na’Tassia Vice (broadcasting), Michele Witter (psychology), Eric Eshbach (art), Kevin Johnson (finance), David Olson (law) and Brad Teeple (sociology).

 

The 2005 class of graduating NU track and field athletes amassed an impressive list of accolades. Those Huskers receiving degrees collected totals of 16 NCAA All-America honors, 14 individual Big 12 Conference championships, four national titles and 2 Olympics appearances.

 

The spring graduating class of 60 University of Nebraska student-athletes is added to the December class of 28 graduates to bring the total number of Husker student-athletes graduating during the 2004-05 academic year to 88.  Nebraska continues to feature one of the highest graduation rates in the nation with an exhausted eligibility graduation rate of 91 percent.
