Austin, Texas --- The No. 71 Nebraska men's tennis team fell for the second straight day in Texas and the sixth consecutive time overall as it dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 39 Texas Sunday. With the loss, NU falls to 9-13 on the season and 0-6 in league play with one regular-season match remaining. Nebraska's tandem of James Clow and Adrian Szatmary picked up the only win of the day for the Huskers, as they battled back for a 9-8 victory over Luiz Diaz Barriga and Garrett Snyder at the No. 3 position. It was the duo's third straight conference win and pushed them to a team-best 8-2 mark this spring. The Huskers nearly pulled out the doubles point but the Longhorns' Callum Bealle and Travis Helgeson edged past NU's Jerry Posch and Joel Reckewey, 9-8, at the No. 1 slot to clinch the victory. UT had already won at the No. 2 position by an 8-3 decision. In singles play, Posch took Helgeson, ranked No. 87 nationally in singles, to the limit. Helgeson won the first set 6-3, but Posch rallied to force a third set by winning in the second, 6-3. Helgeson then picked up the victory to complete the sweep with a 6-4 win in the third frame. Nebraska dropped its other five singles matches in straight sets. The Huskers round out the regular season at home on Friday, April 22, in Lincoln. Nebraska will play host to top-15 ranked Texas Tech at 2 p.m. at the NU Varsity Courts.
