Stillwater, Okla. --- The No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys ran past Nebraska, 6-1, Thursday in men's tennis action at the DeBois Tennis Center. With their third straight loss, the No. 66 Huskers fell to 7-7 on the season and 0-2 in Big 12 action, while OSU improved to 10-3 overall and 1-0 in league play. After seeing better execution in doubles play the past three outings, the Huskers took a step back as they were swept in tandems action. Adrian Szatmary and James Clow came the closest to a victory, but went down 9-7 to suffer their first loss in five decisions this spring. In singles action, senior Joel Reckewey picked up his third win of the season with a victory over Felipe Diaz. Playing at the No. 6 slot, Diaz won the first set 7-6, but then retired in the second set. Senior Jose Rivera was the only Husker to win a set as he nearly pulled off a victory at the No. 5 position but fell 2-6, 6-3, 10-7. OSU swept the top four slots in straight sets while winning at least six points against Nebraska for the second straight season. "We knew getting back into league play would be tough. Oklahoma State is a top-15 team and they lost last week but came back fired up," said Nebraska Coach Kerry McDermott. "All of the teams in the conference are tough, but we have struggled a little getting used to playing outside. I told the guys we need to be more patient and try to build for a point instead of going for winners every time. But OSU played better and now we need to concentrate on getting back in action next week in Boise." The Huskers return to action next week when they compete at the Boise Tournament in Boise, Idaho. Competition begins on Wednesday, March 23 and runs through Saturday, March 26.
