Lincoln - Three Nebraska soccer players earned postseason honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their efforts this past season, which ended with a run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, the program's eighth Sweet 16 berth in the last nine years.
Sophomore forward/midfelder Brittany Timko was named to the NSCAA All-Central Region first-team, while junior forward Nikki Baker garnered second-team honors. Senior midfielder Lindsey Ingram was also honored as a first-team All-North/Central Region scholar.
Timko, who was also tabbed a NSCAA third-team All-American and the Big 12 Conference's Player of the Year, finished the season with 15 goals, 13 assists and 43 points. In a dominating season, Timko tied several school single-game and single-season records, including tying the mark for most game-winning assists in a season.
Baker enjoyed a career year in 2004 that saw her post career-high totals of 14 goals, 30 points and two assists. In the NCAA Tournament, the Bixby, Okla., native recorded the first hat trick of her career and scored the game-winning goal in each of Nebraska's two victories, finishing with four of the Huskers' six goals overall.
Ingram, a nursing major, was one of 12 student-athletes to earn first-team recognition on the all-scholar team that combined both the north and central regions. A first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection off the field, Ingram also excelled on the field, finishing the season with two goals, four assists and eight points.
