Nebraska Signs Two Ranked Players

Lincoln-- The Nebraska women's tennis team announced the signing of two players Monday, Vanessa Heute of Herdecke, Germany, and Kim Hartmann of Fulda, Germany.

Head Coach Scott Jacobson is very excited about his new players.

"This is as good of a recruiting class as we've ever had at Nebraska.," Jacobson said. "The skill level of Vanessa and Kim are extremely high and places the future of Nebraska women's tennis in good hands. Not only are we receiving the gift of incredibly talented tennis players, but most importantly, amazing human beings with tremendous character. We feel honored that Vanessa and Kim believe so strongly in the philosophy of our Husker family. The future is bright, incredibly bright!"

Both players received rankings for their performances in Germany. Hartmann was ranked No. 67, while Heute was ranked No. 103.

Hartmann and Heute will begin playing for the Huskers in the fall of 2005.
