Huskers Fall in Third Round of the ITA Pre-Qualifying Tournament

Los Angeles ? Members ofthe Nebraska women's tennis team fell in the pre-qualifying third round of the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships Monday, Oct. 4 in Los Angeles.

On the singles court, two of Nebraska's newcomers fell short, when Ewelina Skaza's second set comeback was stopped by Lolita Frangulyan of Florida, 6-1, 6-3, and Imke Reimers could not find success against UNLV's Elena Gantcheva.

On the doubles court, Milena Schulz-Gartner and Skaza did not fare any better, losing 8-2 to Valerie Vladea and Jamie Peisel of Northwestern.

Gitte Ostermann, the No. 16 seed in the qualifying tournament, and the No. 44 player nationally, will play Tuesday, Oct. 5, against Kristi Miller of Georgia Tech.
