Lincoln ? A limited number of single-match Nebraska volleyball tickets will go on sale to the public this Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 8 a.m.
Tickets prices are $12 (floor and lower balcony), $10 (upper balcony), $6 (adult general admission) and $4 (youth general admission). Each fan making a request will be limited to four tickets per game. Tickets can be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office, located across the street from Memorial Stadium, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, by calling 1-800-8-BIGRED, or by logging onto Huskers.com.
The 14-match home schedule includes match-ups with eight NCAA qualifiers, including Sweet 16 participants Texas A&M (Sept. 25), Kansas State (Nov. 6) and Colorado State (Nov. 7). Other NCAA qualifiers on the 2004 schedule include Florida A&M (Sept. 10), Maryland (Sept. 12), Missouri (Sept. 15), Colorado (Oct. 27) and Kansas (Nov. 12).
Tickets for Nebraska’s Oct. 16 match against Iowa State at the Bob Devaney Sports Center will also go on sale on Wednesday. The time of that match is TBA, depending on the kickoff of the football game against Baylor scheduled that day.
Nebraska, which finished the 2003 season ranked 13th nationally with a 28-5 record, returns five starters, including All-American middle blocker Melissa Elmer and first-team All-Big 12 outside hitter Jennifer Saleaumua. Other returning letterwinners include senior Ally Rebholz, junior Michelle Lynch, sophomores Dani Busboom, Kelsey Fautsch, Christina Houghtelling, Dani Mancuso, Amanda McCormick and redshirt freshman Emily Schroeder.
In addition, the Huskers also welcome the nation’s top recruiting class, including Canadian National Team member Sarah Pavan, U.S. National Team member Tracy Stalls and all-Nebraska honoree Meghan Smith.
The Huskers, who open fall drills next Tuesday, Aug. 10, will play host to the Red/White Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 28, with an alumni match slated for 5 p.m., and the varsity Red/White Scrimmage set for 7 p.m. Tickets for the Red/White Scrimmage are $6 for adults and $4 for children in high school and younger.
The 2004 campaign opens on Friday, Sept. 3, with the first of two matches at Notre Dame. NU opens the home portion of its schedule with the First National Bank/Arby’s Classic from Sept. 10-12.
