Six Huskers Named to Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll

Lincoln --- The Nebraska men's tennis team had six players earn academic recognition as they were selected to the 2004 Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.

Four of the six student-athletes will return next year, including Jose Rivera, Gerhard Posch, James Clow and Sean Coetzee. It was the fourth consecutive semester Rivera had been named to the squad, and was the first honor for the three newcomers.

Also being named to the honor roll were Jeff Nabity, who completed his eligibility during the 2004 spring season, and Jacek Wolicki, a Husker letterman in 2002 and 2003. Nabity and Rivera, along with Ryan Jay, were also named to the 2003 Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll.

The Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the previous semester. Overall, Nebraska had 263 student-athletes named to the spring honor roll, including 33 who produced perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester.
