Lincoln ? Eight Husker softball players were named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring 2004 Honor Roll for their work in the classroom.
KoKo Tacha, an outfielder from Manhattan, Kan., made the list with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. Tacha, who has not decided on a major, has made the honor roll with a perfect 4.0 GPA in each of her four semesters as a Husker.
Seven others made both the Fall 2003 and the Spring 2004 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Peaches James (Papillion, Neb., sociology), a second-team NFCA All-American pitcher, outfielder Kira Boerkircher (Cozad, Neb., dance), outfielder Jaime Borg (Lincoln, Neb., nutrition, fitness and health promotion, pre-med), right fielder Liz Lawhorn (Muscatine, Iowa, business administration), second baseman Anne Steffan (Mankato, Minn., psychology), left fielder Trisha Tannahill (Overland Park, Kan., undecided) and third baseman Jessica Yoachim (Arkansas City, Kan., biology) were each honored twice during the 2003-04 school year.
The Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the previous semester. Overall, Nebraska had 263 student-athletes named to the spring honor roll, including 33 who produced perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the spring semester.
