Lincoln ? Eight members of the Nebraska women’s soccer team were honored for excellence in the classroom by being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll.
Christy Harms, a community health education major from Blue Springs, Mo., made the list for the sixth time in her career. Two other Huskers were repeat selections. Pre-nursing major Lindsey Ingram (Littleton, Colo.), who plays midfield, forward and defender for NU, made the list for the fifth time in her career. With her fourth honor, defender Katie Bunkers (Sioux Falls, S.D.), a general studies major, has made the honor roll in each of her four semesters at Nebraska.
Five Huskers made the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the first time in their career. Forwards Iman Haynes (Denver, Colo., broadcasting), Nikki Baker (Bixby, Okla., special education) and Ashley Carter (Omaha, Neb., undecided) and midfielder Ashley Tenn (Visalia, Calif., undecided) were each first-time honorees. Jenna Cooper (Louisville, Ky., mechanical engineering) was posthumously named to the honor roll based on her work completed earlier this spring.
The Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the previous semester. Overall, Nebraska had 263 student-athletes named to the spring honor roll, including 33 who produced perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the spring semester.
