Huskers Defeat Wyoming, 7-0

The No. 70 Nebraska women’s tennis team won its second match of the weekend with a dominant 7-0 victory over Wyoming Sunday afternoon at WoodsTennisCenter. The Huskers, who defeated WichitaState 7-0 on Friday, won all six singles matches in straight sets and took two of the three doubles matches.

Three Huskers remain undefeated for NU (5-0). Senior Leslie Harvey (5-0) defeated Wyoming’s Karolina Rowinski, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 2 singles. Senior Anna Oehme (5-0) beat Jennifer Hancock, 7-5, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot, and sophomore Pamela Castillejos (5-0) picked up a win at No. 4 singles, defeating Yuliani Santi, 6-3, 6-4.

 

At No. 1 singles, sophomore Milena Schulz-Gartner improved to 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-2, win over Patricia Chien. Junior Katie Garcia won at No. 5 singles over Amy Senko, 6-1, 6-2, and sophomore Jennifer Cremieux beat Andrea House in the No. 6 spot, 6-0, 6-2.

 

The Huskers conclude a seven-game homestand this weekend with two matches at WoodsTennisCenter. Friday, Feb. 12, NU plays host to Air Force at 4 p.m. at Woods. Nebraska then opens its Big 12 Conference schedule against Texas Sunday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m.
