Lincoln -- University of Nebraska wrestler Jacob Klein was named the College Sports Television wrestler of the week for the week of Jan. 18-25.
Klein’s victory over ninth-ranked Tyron Woodley at 165 pounds, helped NU defeat fourth-ranked Missouri, 23-13 on Saturday, Jan. 24 in front of 1,372 fans at the NU Coliseum. The victory over Woodley was Klein’s first victory over a ranked opponent this season.
The Valley Center,Kan. native and the rest of the second-ranked Huskers are in Tempe, Ariz. to take on 13th-ranked Arizona State on Jan. 30 at 8 p.m.
Klein is the second Husker to earn this honor as junior Travis Pascoe received the wrestler of the week honor for his action during the week of Nov. 29.
